PatentFig is committed to supporting researchers long-term. Whether you can post on your institution's website or not, we have a track for you. Institutional Track: add a PatentFig introduction and link on your institution domain for 500 credits/month. Community Track: share PatentFig content on other public platforms for 100 credits/month. Both tracks last up to 12 months.

How it works
Prepare your content
Institutional Track: add a PatentFig introduction and link on a public page under your institution domain. Community Track: publish PatentFig content on at least 3 different supported public platforms.

Select the Institutional or Community track, provide URLs, upload screenshots, and submit. We review within 1 business day.
Receive monthly credits
Once approved, your first month of credits is granted immediately. Credits continue every month for up to 12 months.

Institutional Track Details
Eligible pages
- Faculty or researcher profile pages
- Lab, research group, or course pages
- Must be under an institution domain (e.g. .edu, .ac.uk)
- Must include a PatentFig introduction and a clickable link (a URL shown only as text does not count)
- Must be publicly accessible without login

- Personal domains you own (e.g. janedoe.com)
- Third-party platforms (GitHub Pages, Notion, Medium)
- Pages behind login walls
- Pages with only a bare link and no introduction
- Pages where the URL is displayed as text only and cannot be clicked
Community Track Details
Eligible content
- Articles or posts about PatentFig on public platforms
- Must include a PatentFig introduction and clickable link
- Must be your own original content
- Must be publicly accessible without login
- Submit content from at least 3 different platforms

- Reposts or quotes of others’ content
- Content visible only to friends or followers
- Pages without a PatentFig introduction or link
- Expired or deleted content

Frequently asked questions
- What is the difference between the two tracks?
- The Institutional Track is for researchers who can publish on an institution domain (e.g. .edu), earning 500 credits/month. The Community Track is for researchers who cannot conveniently post on institutional websites — they can share on other public platforms instead, earning 100 credits/month.
- Is this a subscription discount?
- No. The program adds support credits to your account each month. Your Stripe subscription status is not affected.
- When do credits arrive?
- The first month is granted immediately after approval. Later months are granted automatically at the start of each month.
- Can I apply for both tracks?
- No. Each account can only have one active application at a time.
- Can multiple accounts use the same page?
- No. Each page URL can only be linked to one PatentFig account.
